Looks awfully damn familiar to me. The ironic thing about it is, the so-called author, Deborah, the person behind the HP[sic] Residents Blog, commented earlier today on my post about Tom Topping.
One would think I wouldn’t have to keep flogging this, but obviously this horse ain’t dead yet. Bloggers, Publishers, anyone, everyone, read very carefully: If you want to use something from this blog simply give credit where credit is DUE.
The local news and blog aggregate The Eastsider LA does an excellent job at this. Use the info, but simply LINK IT. You may notice I am diligent about linking to my sources when I use them. Just do the same.
This blog may have to stop covering 90042 and dedicate itself full-time to covering plagiarism. I’m considering doing a “Linda Williamson,” and start making stuff up just to see who copies it. The LA Times has yet to copy me, but who knows, I may be next.
Current mood: Pissed.
Update 09.18.09, 6:00pm: Somewhat resolved. The link to my post or the 90042 blog is still missing, but she did do the very least and thank me and attribute by name. Inspired by Obama’s gesture to Rep. Joe Wilson, I think it is time to move on….
